Did you know that with over 2.1 billion children in the world, and an average of 2.5 children per household, Santa must make 842 million stops on christmas eve!
With all that travelling, it is probably a good idea to get your ideas to him early! In this lesson, students write to Santa with the aim of convincing him that they should get a particular gift! Its a letter of persuasion with quite some motivation!
(1.)Share the fun fact above with the class. Explain that they will really need to make sure that Santa knows what to bring them and why BEFORE he leaves the North Pole. Brainstorm letter writing conventions and persuasive techniques.
(2)Play the Quiz!
(1.)Use the template to write your letter! Use ideas and vocabulary from the quiz (don’t forget spelling!). Remember, Santa needs to know what you want, why you should get it, and what you’re going to do with it!
